Music invites us to dance, to cry, to hum and sing, to remember our own story and hear the stories of others. It brings us together, opens us up and heals. New England's "most inventive string band" (Boston Herald), Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem, has been stirring hearts for 12 years now; their shows are mini "agnostic gospel revivals" in which big questions are asked, few are answered, much harmony is sung, and a joyful string band is let loose to dispense its good medicine. For this show, Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem team up with Brattleboro's Hallowell Hospice Choir, which takes the medicine of music right to the bedsides of patients and families journeying towards death. Hallowell singers will open with a set of music they might bring to a bedside sing; they will join Rani Arbo & daisy mayhem on several songs, including Arbo's setting of Tennyson's "Crossing the Bar." Come hear this wonderful collaboration of musical forces, a concert both groups have been looking forward to doing together for some time.
